I am a Stanford MBA student researching the experiences of children with
learning differences and how new technology tools could help support
children and their families. I'm working with three PhD and masters
students from the Stanford School of Education, mentored by the School of
Education’s Entrepreneur in Residence.
We are participating in “Startup Garage”, an intensive 6-month
project-based course to design, develop, and test new business concepts
that address real world needs. The goal of the course is to develop a
prototype that could form the basis for a seed fundable venture.
We were inspired by personal experiences of team members to focus on
learning differences (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia). We are
working with users, domain experts, and industry participants over the next
several months to identify and deeply understand one or more unmet customer
needs in this area. We aim to develop a technology tool to assist with
early diagnosis and/or treatment & support for children. We are also
interested in exploring the interaction of these conditions with
developmental disabilities such as ADHD and autism.
Would appreciate it greatly if anyone on here (students/parents/practicioners) would be willing to connect and share their thoughts and experiences. Also would love to make connections if there's people you know not on this message board!
